So, life as a pastor offers some perks. For instance, on thanksgiving weekend people from the church brought some jams and stuff for a display and it was meant for the pastors and stuff to divide up and keep after. So, I got some good stuff, including a pie and some pumpkin bread.
All I have left by now is a jar of canned peaches and some jams.

However, I still have a problem; I can't get that jar of peaches open. I've been trying for a few days now. I wrestle with it for a few minutes before giving up and putting it back in the fridge. This has been a real blow to my self-confidence. I've been going to the gym every weekday at about 4:30 pm with Brian. I was under the impression that we were getting quite
HUUUUUGE by now. But, apparently I still can't open a can of peaches.
What should I do? This is beginning to drive me mad. I do have tonnes of space in my fridge, but this can sits there taunting me and calling me a puny, wussy little puke.
Does anyone know how to get into this can of peaches?

Ha! Those evil jars look like the same ones my roomie Bec and I wrestled with when we wanted fruit for our waffles!!
I don't know if this will work for you, but if you can get the circular rim off (It looks like those jars that have the flat lid and then the circular part that keeps it connected to the jar), all you have to do is get a butter knife and worm your way under the flat lid. I hope this makes sense. If not there is the hot water option or the smashing it on the floor idea.
I think the smashing option might be the quickest method but then you have that whole shards of glass in your fruit to worry about.
Cheers,
Liz
P.S. Let us knw if you are successful
Yes, that is the type of jar, even though the photo I have is sotlen off the internet because my digital camera is with Anh right now. So, the picture leads people to believe that I have 3 jars when really I only have one. Anyways, good advice. However, I can't even get the twist-off ring portion of the lid off. Will hot water help that part too?
Maybe I will just have to learn how to handle shards of glass in my fruit.
Yes, hot water should do the trick. Refrigerate it first and then take it directly out of the fridge and throw it into the hot water (just the top). The metal expands quicker than the glass, and so you should be able to easily get the lid off. Plus, sometimes the hot water loosens any of the sticky mess that is causing the lid to stick in its place. Good luck with this, young fellow!
PS. Don't forget to grip the lid with a moist cloth.
VICTORY!
Thanks guys. That worked like a charm. It opened so easy with just my fingertips after running it under hot water.
